Martín Solís, Illustrator

Martín Esteban Solís, Illustration

Martín Esteban Solís is an Argentinian illustrator and fine artist originally from Paso de los Libres, Corrientes. His passion for drawing began in childhood and evolved into a lifelong pursuit of artistic expression. Though he initially studied Graphic Design, Martín soon found himself drawn more deeply to the world of visual art. Largely self-taught in his early years, he immersed himself in the study of works from many eras, with a particular fascination for the techniques and compositions of the Renaissance.

To deepen his skills, Martín later took formal drawing and painting classes and enrolled in the Fine Arts program at the Santa Ana Higher Institute in Buenos Aires. There, he expanded his practice through studies in painting, sculpture, and printmaking. While open to many techniques and styles, his work today is especially focused on freehand pencil drawing—an intimate medium through which he explores form, texture, and emotional resonance.

Martín’s career has followed a nonlinear path, occasionally interrupted but never abandoned. He has worked as a print designer for the textile industry and exhibited his art at venues such as the Manuel Belgrano Salon, organized by the Eduardo Sívori Museum of Plastic Arts, and the Fiat Lux Library in Colón, Entre Ríos. His journey—at times chaotic, always alive—is reflected in the depth and sensitivity of his art.

Martín’s artwork can be found on Pixabay, where he maintains a substantial sampling of his diverse work. Martín provided the cover art for “Nightmare & Lullabies” as well as the forthcoming “Pax Liminalis” for which he is also the illustrator. Additionally, Martín has agreed to illustrate the inaugural release of Beach Book Classics, an as yet untitled collection of short stories.

Gene Rayner, Cover Design, Photography

Gene Rayner is a book cover designer and photographer based in Cronulla, a coastal suburb of Sydney, Australia. Originally from Elmira, New York, Gene studied graphic design at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) before embarking on a global journey of creative exploration. Her career has spanned continents and disciplines, including a formative role as Art Director for a leading advertising agency in Sydney.

Gene’s free-spirited nature and love of travel led her to Singapore, where she met her husband, and later to Australia—a place she now happily calls home. With her two sons off at university, Gene enjoys long walks along the coast with her Whippet, Buster, and finds inspiration in her local community, especially the Cronulla Library and the Cronulla Arts Theatre.

Her passion for storytelling through imagery led her to launch a freelance career in book cover design, blending her background in visual communication with her deep appreciation for literature. Gene’s cover work can be seen on several Beach Book Press titles, including Beyond Tomorrow’s Sun, Beyond the Rivers of Time, Nightmares & Lullabies, and Happy Holidays!

Anthony Tucker, Website Developer

Anthony Tucker, Website Design/Build

Anthony is a self-taught web designer and full-time line producer based in Decatur, Georgia. A believer in the principle that less is more, Anthony builds websites that are clean, intuitive, and easy to maintain—always with an eye toward simplicity, even when navigating complex requirements. He’s been designing websites since high school, when he first began crafting digital homes for friends, family, and small businesses around his hometown.

By day, Anthony works in the fast-paced world of broadcast production, a career he finds thrilling and deeply collaborative. On nights and weekends, he takes on freelance web design projects, including work with Beach Book Press, where he helps ensure their sites are as user-friendly as the books are engaging. Though he hopes to shift into web design full-time one day, he’s in no rush—the rhythm of his current life suits him just fine.

Anthony lives in a cozy bungalow with his girlfriend, their enthusiastic yellow Lab Daisy, and two cats, Stella and Cleo, who are far less enthusiastic about most things. When he’s not coding or producing, you’ll likely find him jogging a 5K or wandering the stalls at the Decatur Book Festival, one of his favorite events of the year.

Daniel Dugan, Writer, Editor

Daniel “Dan” Dugan, Writer, Editor

Daniel “Dan” Dugan is an editor, writer, and devoted literary sleuth based in Sligo, Ireland. Born in Miami and raised in Key West, Florida, Dan studied literature in college before pursuing a life shaped by salt air and curiosity. His adventures have included a stint in the Merchant Marines and a brief, bracing career as a lobsterman off the coast of Scituate, Massachusetts.

Today, Dan channels his love of classic pop and pulp fiction into curating the Beach Book Classics series for Beach Book Press—a personal passion project brought to life after years of deep research and rights negotiation. The first volume, an illustrated collection of five occult tales by Manly Wade Wellman, will debut in the coming months.

When not poring over obscure bibliographies or restoring forgotten stories, Dan can often be found at his favorite restaurant in Sligo, Eala Bhán (“White Swan”), where he enjoys watching the birds that glide along the nearby Garavogue River. A believer in atmosphere, lore, and the pleasures of well-cooked language, Dan brings a keen eye and a generous spirit to every story he touches.
