May 28, 2026: At long last, it’s time for a first look at the cover to the forthcoming ‘Pax Liminalis” by Ronald McGuire!

Pax Liminalis

Arriving August 1, 2026, Ronald McGuire’s second collection of short stories, Pax Liminalis, illustrated by Martín Solís.

Pax Liminalis is a collection of short fiction exploring change in its many forms: feared, resisted, embraced. From the uncanny to the deeply human, these stories reveal what it means to stand on the edge of transformation.

Pax Liminalis is Ronald’s homage to his favorite creators of speculative fiction, from Vonnegut to Serling, Asimov to Clarke – and it does not disappoint. After many years of work, Ronald’s second collection will be released August 1, 2026. This collection of three previously published stories and nine new stories is illustrated, and the cover designed by, the amazing Martín Solís, and will be available in both English and Spanish editions (Spanish edition will be available August 15).

The Texican – late October 2026.

Beach Book Press is excited to publish a stunning literary crime thriller, The Texican. For readers of Don Winslow and Patricia Highsmith, The Texican is a literary crime novel about a young former Marine forced into the DEA’s covert war against the cartels, where survival demands new identities, impossible loyalties, and the courage to remain himself in a world determined to define him. Inspired by actual events, this novel deals with mature themes, and includes violent scenes, sexual situations, sexual assault, drug use, death by overdose, and other intense content. It is not for the squeamish. Arriving Late October 2026.

And available now, wherever books are sold – Kill Sequence: Vengeance has Evolved.

Kill Sequence grabs hold from the first page and never lets go. The technology at its heart isn’t treated as a gimmick, but as the spark for a deeply human story of danger, betrayal, and survival. Griffiths deftly drops us into the action and keeps us running, revealing just enough at just the right moment to keep the tension razor-sharp.

What follows is a relentless, cinematic ride that balances sharp dialogue with vivid action, evoking the best of writers like Robert Ludlum and Lee Child, while carving out its own path. At once breathless and assured, Kill Sequence marks a stunning debut—thrilling, twist-filled, and impossible to put down.

Released October 3, 2025, this fast-paced action-adventure techno-thriller is available wherever books are sold, in hardcover, paperback, and ebook formats.

We’ve got some exciting projects on the way! Unfortunately we’ve run into a few hiccups that will delay the launch of Beach Book Classics. We made the difficult decision to accept these delays in order to migrate our business to a new distributor. Links to individual titles, with more detailed information, can be found on our Books page.

Soon we’ll be launching Beach Book Classics, with our first collection from editor Dan Dugan, creator of Dan Dugan Editions, “That Which is Hidden.” A collection of five stories, originally published in Weird Tales magazine, written by Manly Wade Wellman (also writing as Gans T. Field). This collection brings together the five original “Ghostbreakers” stories.

Dan has a knack for spotting overlooked or forgotten gems in the horror, sci-fi, and fantasy genres. With skillful editing and a light touch, Dan breathes new life into classic stories that helped establish the popular genres he loves.

Think of Dan as the Turner Classic Movies of literature, working to preserve a rich heritage for future generations of readers.

Please note: This cover may not be the final design. We like it, but we’re a long way from publication. We shall see.
That Which is Hidden
“That Which is Hidden” will include five classic horror tales, “The Hairy Ones Shall Dance,” “The Black Drama,” “The Dreadful Rabbits,” “The Haunted Half,” and “Chastel.”

Last, but by no means least, Happy Holidays!: How I Went from Failed Writer to Drug Mule, and Back, Without Really Trying” by C.R. “Charlie” Barnes.

After a shocking event on Halloween night, Charlie Barnes is back in the news for all the wrong reasons. On the bright side, he meets handsome cop Luke. Luke of the blue eyes, perfect nose, beautiful butt cheeks, and, unbeknownst to Charlie, ulterior motives.

And finally, if we can keep him focused and writing, we’re hoping to have Charlie Barnes’ second novel, “Adulting,” available no later than February 2027. (We’ve now changed this date…too many times. We still haven’t seen so much as a sentence yet. This is so…Charlie.).

Nightmares & Lullabies

Nightmares & Lullabies contains over a dozen short stories by Ronald McGuire. At times moving, mischievous, and reflective, much of the work is centered on the gay experience at varying life stages. In “Early Summer,” a boy’s first crush leads to the joy of reciprocity, while in “An Understanding,” bitterness, anger, and regret, fill the days of a man whose arrogance has cost him everything he didn’t know he needed, while “Lullaby” reveals a glimpse of the life after this one. This genre-spanning collection includes the award-winning literary fiction “Fitting In,” the sci-fi dystopia of “Farewell, Hollywood,” and the bizarre horror and dark humor of “A Time to Dance,” and “The Not-Zombies Apocalypse.” From the surreal to the sublime, the stories in Nightmares & Lullabies are fearless, unapologetic, and rife with moral ambiguity.

Even bad publicity can be good for book sales, according to Charlie’s publisher, who promptly moves up the deadline for his next book. A book he hasn’t started due to a crushing case of writer’s block. Or perhaps he’s just lazy, hard to say.

He’s got a month to write his next book, decide if Luke is for real, and figure out what to do about the suitcase full of drugs he abandoned at the airport. The pressure is on and the ride is about to get bumpy.

About the Author

C.R. “Charlie” Barnes studied literature and journalism in college and went to work for a global news organization immediately after graduation. During his time there the team won 5 Peabody awards and a Columbia-Dupont Award (this is true!). “Happy Holidays!” is his first foray into LGBTQ fiction and its follow-up, “Adulting” is expected… who are we kidding? We’re never going to know when this books will be ready. Charlie is the Procrastination King, but we love him all the same. Stay posted.
