Beach Book Press publishes books that provide readers with the perfect companions for their moments of relaxation and adventure. Whether lounging by the ocean, unwinding by the pool, or enjoying a cozy evening at home, our books are crafted to transport readers to new worlds, spark imagination, and leave everyone feeling good about how they’ve spent their time with us.

General Submission Guidelines

File Format: Please submit your manuscript as a Word document (.doc or .docx) using our Submission portal, found here. (We do not accept email submissions at this time).

We prefer Standard Manuscript format, full details can be found here.

Font and Spacing:

Use a standard font like Times New Roman or Garamond, 12-point size.

Double-space your text.

Margins:

Set 1-inch margins on all sides.

Header:

Unless you are entering one of our competitions, which we read blind, please include your last name, the title of your manuscript, and the page number in the header of each page.

e.g. Author/Great Book/11

Title Page:

 Provide the title of your manuscript, your name, address, phone number, and email address. Indicate the approximate word count of your manuscript.

Synopsis:

Include a brief synopsis (1-2 pages) summarizing your story. Please include as many details as poodle, including plot twists and ending.

Cover Letter:

A cover letter is nice but not required. It should be a brief introduction of yourself, your writing background, and any relevant publishing history, as well as a third-person bio of 100 word or less.

Submission Length:

We are unlikely to accept any manuscript in excess of 100k words, in any genre. Conversely, anything below 40K words (excluding Children’s books) is also unlikely to make the cut. However, exceptions can be made for exceptional work. Generally speaking, for most adult genres, 80k words is our magic number; if your manuscript is longer than 80K, consider killing a few of your darlings.

Response Time*:

Response times vary, but we try to reply within two months. With that said, please allow 8-12 weeks for our editorial team to review your submission before contacting our team again. Please keep all submission-related communication within our submission port. This is where we will contact you with our decision.
